WUKY forming Leadership Circle

Curious. Idealistic. Inspired by the life and culture of the people around us
Those words describe WUKY’s core values. Those are words that describe our listener/members. That’s why we make such a good team. Members of WUKY take pride in knowing that our teamwork has provided the best to the Bluegrass -- timely and in-depth news coverage and discourse, exceptional music programming, and a front row seat to the Arts.

Because of that, WUKY would like to invite you to strengthen your commitment and join people like Anne Bolton. Anne chose to play an even larger role in the future of our station by becoming a charter member of our Leadership Circle. For Anne the choice was a simple one.

“WUKY satisfies my appetite for all flavors of the arts. It also gives me a greater understanding of our fascinating, complicated world. The diversity and breadth of its programming have grown substantially in the nearly twenty years that I have been a listener. I want to do my part to ensure that WUKY’s tradition of offering challenging and stimulating coverage of important issues and the arts continues.”

For a minimum commitment of $1000 per year over a three-year period or $3000 payable in a lump sum, you will be one of a select group of major donors who will have an integral part in developing the ongoing vision of the station.

Leadership Circle Members will receive several special benefits.

    • You will be invited to an annual luncheon where Circle members and station manager Tom Godell will discuss issues of importance to WUKY and Central Kentucky.
    • You will be kept up-to-date on progress toward meeting the goals set in our 5-year-plan, including:

    • Replacing WUKY's antenna and transmitter & upgrading to digital radio by June of 2006.
    • Expansion of our coverage area through the use of repeater stations
    • Building new, state-of-the-art studio space that will enable us to keep our programming in pace with the needs of our community.

    • In addition, you will be included on our preferred mailing list which means that you will receive only the mailings that affect you directly.
    • Plus there will be an opportunity to become a subscriber to our upcoming
e-newsletter which will keep you up-to-date on the latest information about WUKY.

Please consider becoming a charter member of WUKY’s select Leadership Circle. Dr. Cindy Derer has. For Cindy it means contributing to the bigger picture.

“I believe strongly that we need to support the voices that promote free thinking and freedom of speech. Two of those voices are WUKY and NPR. When I’m tuned to WUKY I’m presented with all sides of an issue. The knowledge and perspectives I gain through WUKY make me a better citizen. Because of that, I believe when I contribute to WUKY, I contribute to my community.”

What will it mean to you to have a voice in WUKY’s future? What will it mean to you to have a voice in the future of your community? We hope it will mean that you will join us as WUKY forges into the future while continuing our long tradition of quality service to Central Kentucky.
